As we finalize the conference agenda, we would like to clarify the guidelines regarding presentation languages and translation options, to ensure a clear and comprehensive programme for all attendees.
Official Conference Languages
The official languages of the conference are:
English
French
Spanish
Presentation Language in the Programme
Each presentation in the programme is listed with a distinct presenting language (one of the three official languages).
This is indicated in one of the following ways:
-
By the colour coding in the programme
-
By the language of the presentation title
-
By a language code (ENG, FR, ES)
Color Coding
No colour → English
Blue → French
Red → Spanish
⚠️ In sessions with presentations in multiple languages (e.g., Reflective Sessions), the presentation language is indicated by the title language of each individual presentation and is also marked with a language code (ENG, FR, ES) for your reference.
Simultaneous Translation (Organised by the Conference)
Simultaneous translation will be available only for Invited Sessions and only in the following designated rooms:
Wednesday, 27 August
Palais des Congrès de Lyon – Amphitheatre
Languages: English | French | Spanish | Greek | Italian
Thursday, 28 to Saturday, 30 August
Université Lumière Lyon 2 (Invited Sessions only)
-
Hirsch Hall → English ⇄ French
-
Demeter_AUBRAC Hall → English ⇄ Spanish
-
Athena_FUGIER Hall → English ⇄ Italian
⚠️ Any other language to be spoken in each session hall must be translated consecutively on stage during the presentation, with the help of a volunteer translator, arranged by the presenter/s.
Consecutive Translation (Self-Organized)
For all other sessions and rooms, simultaneous translation will NOT be available.
However, if presenters wish their entire presentation to be translated in any other language other than the one indicated, they are welcome to self-organize this under the following conditions:
-
A volunteer consecutive translator must be arranged by the presenter themselves.
-
Presenters must inform the organizing team in advance if a consecutive translator will be used, and for which language, so that we can reflect this in the official programme.
Presenters should take into consideration the time frame and limits of their presentation. Whether translated or not, the time allocated to each session remains the same.
FINAL NOTE!
We kindly ask all presenters to adhere to their stated presentation language, to ensure that all attendees can engage with the content as fully as possible.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us create a meaningful, inclusive, and comprehensible conference experience for everyone.
With best regards,
The EFTA-RELATES Organizing Team

Extra Language Support for Attendees
Attendees without access to the official translation options may find the free Microsoft Translator app useful for personal live captions or audio translation.
Please note: this is an independent suggestion for your convenience. The conference organisation is not involved in, nor responsible for, the app’s use or performance.
